Dad’s Chapel

Dad’s Chapel is a time of worship and teaching held on the first Tuesday of every month. Each month, the father of a family in the school leads a brief teaching and activity to introduce the virtue of the month. The uniqueness of the dads leading this special time signifies the father as the spiritual leadership of the family at the core of the moral character that we are impressing upon the hearts of our children. Dad’s Chapel also provides a time of fellowship for the families during school hours.

Mom’s Meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month directly following Dad’s Chapel. This is a time to visit, refresh, and recharge. The schedule is as follows:

9:00-9:15 - Coffee and Visit
9:15-10:15 - Educational Information (Teaching Tips)
10:15-11:00 - Designated mom shares what the Bible says about the Virtue of the Month
11:00-11:40 - Moms meet with teachers for tips and guidance

Homeschool Workshops

These training sessions will cover a wide range of topics from the basics of homeschooling to the intricacies of various curriculums. They are designed to create continuity between home and school and to bring peace and understanding to LCCS moms about the materials and their roles as teachers within each subject. Currently these are planned for the beginning of September, November, January, and March.

Family Fun nights

Once a month, our community of families comes together to enjoy activities that grow us closer together outside of the daily joy of doing life together. We focus on activities that are unrelated to school and give each family a chance to relax in a setting that encourages enjoying each others company. Examples include, going bowling, attending professional sporting events and cookouts.

Parent Volunteers

In conjunction with the homeschooling component of our school, each parent prepares to volunteer, if needed, in our classrooms. Our administration will align the strengths of each parent in a capacity to serve the greater needs of our children. What is expected by LCCS is that each parent be willing to participate in the classroom from time to time to further create community among families. At this time, there are no stated mandates for participation, however, we firmly believe that as families become a part of the LCCS community, volunteering in the classroom will be a natural byproduct.
