Grade: 1st-5th grade
Monthly Cost: $38
Materials Fee: $25
Time: 9-9:50

It's time to play along! Come and learn the basics of music at your level! We'll start with early skills where students learn the fundamentals of music like reading notes on a staff, harmonization, and vocals. We'll play fun early learning instruments, sing songs, and explore how music connects everyone to the world around us. This is a fun class that you just don't want to miss. A great standalone option, but this can also work as a wonderful companion course to any early-learning music programs at home.

Intro to Musical Theatre

(provided by The Writers' Block & The Ligon Music Group)
Instructors: Tawanah Reeves & Robert Ligon
Email Address: twbmentors@gmail.com
Grade: 3rd-8th
Monthly Cost: $43
Materials Fee: $25
Time: 12:10-1:00

Let's break a leg! Intro to Musical Theatre seeks to build confidence and discipline in students by helping them to overcome stage fright and develop their sense of self-worth. We will teach them how to blend the arts of acting and character development with vocalization and music appreciation. Intro to Musical Theatre shall focus predominately on expanding singing, acting, and movement skills by using a variety of performance styles. Students will learn their personal voice type and be able to sing different kinds of songs. They will learn lyrical analysis as well as how to communicate a story through song and physical expressions. By the end of the course, students should be able to identify the intricacies of character and plot movement in stage plays. Because this course creates an ensemble performing group, a sense of teamwork is important and will be discussed often. Students will also be given the opportunity to explore one another's ideas through discussions and critiques. Come join us on stage, and, at the end of the year, enjoy LC3's first theatrical performance!

**Students will need a composition book and writing utensils for this class as well as comfortable clothing. Water bottles are encouraged, but students are responsible for cleaning up after themselves. Laptops and headphones are NOT allowed.**

Grades:3rd-6th grades
Monthly Cost: $33 month
Materials Fee: $20
Time: 9:00-9:50

Mastery of math fundamentals is essential, but the practice and drills required can be boring. This class will build competency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, telling time, and counting money in FUN ways. Each class will begin with a short lesson and review and then the concept will be practiced in stations with fun games, speed drills, manipulatives, and real life examples. This is a supplemental math option, not a substitute for a specific grade’s math curriculum. Learning math does not have to be hard and laborious! If math is a struggle or drudgery for your child, or if they just need more practice, this class will make it so fun that they don’t realize they are improving their skills.
