Get ready for a hands-on journey through the diverse world of general science! Apologia General Science is an engaging preview of all the major fields of science. This is an incredible introduction to upper-level science classes while still being fast paced and covering a variety of interesting topics! We cover Geology, Paleontology, the Scientific Method, Applied Sciences, Biology, Anatomy, DNA, and much more!

General Science is lab-based, and we will complete labs found in the textbook as well as some project-based learning activities. Students will gain experience working independently, as well as in small and large groups. Students will have weekly reading assignments that will be discussed in class. They will learn how to take notes and write formal lab reports. Weekly reading assignments, bookwork, and module summaries will be completed at home as well as occasional class projects. Module tests will be sent home to be completed with the parents. Students will be expected to keep an organized binder for their assignments, tests, lab reports, and other handouts. A syllabus will be provided at the beginning of the course detailing our reading and assignment schedule for each semester.
