LCCS Uniform Policy

Principle:  Our uniform policy strives to minimize the temptation to draw attention to oneself through outward appearance.  Coupled with rigorous heart training, our hope is that our children will be known first for what is in their hearts rather than their appearance.

1 Samuel 16:7 - But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him.  For the Lord sees not as man sees:  man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’

1 Peter 3:3-4 - Do not let your adorning be external...the clothing you wear - but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.

1 Timothy 2:9-10 - women are to dress themselves in modest clothing, with decency and good sense, not with elaborate hairstyles, gold, pearls, or expensive apparel, but with good works, as is proper for women who affirm that they worship God.

Purpose:  The LCCS Uniform Committee is dedicated to selecting uniforms which provide

  • Affordability
  • Modesty
  • Safety
  • Simplicity
  • Durability - in order that the items may be passed down to other students / families; best quality for the price
  • Uniformity - avoiding distraction and comparison which may come from personal preferences
  • “Family” identity - outward expression of our inward love of the community
